Donor designated funds are established by individuals or groups seeking to raise and allocate funds to meet specific goals defined by the donor.  A $5,000 minimum investment is required to establish a donor restricted fund to be managed by SMEF.   

Jack Chalender Legacy Fund
The Jack Chalender Legacy Fund was established by Mainstreet Credit Union to award an annual grant in Dr. Chalender's name for a middle school project.  Dr. Chalender served more than 40 years in education.  He also served 37 years on the Mainstreet Board of Directors - 30 of which as chairman.  The Jack Chalender Legacy Fund accepts donations.  Dr. Chalender is notified of gifts made in his honor.  

East Fund
The mission of the Shawnee Mission East Educational Excellence Fund is to bring together the diverse community at Shawnee Mission East to identify the best ways to enhance the educational experience for students and teachers alike.  The East Fund raises charitable gifts to fund opportunities which help all students and teachers reach their maximum potential. 

Highlands Enhanced Learning Fund
The Highlands Enhanced Learning Fund funds an aide position for the enhanced learning program at Highlands EL center serving 6 elementary schools.     

Prairie Fund
The purpose of the Prairie Fund is to serve as a long-term foundation for Prairie Elementary School to enhance the learning environment, increase the effectiveness of instruction and strengthen the ties between the school and community.   

Shawnee Mission North Legacy Court Fund
The purpose of the Shawnee Mission North Legacy Court is to add bricks to the honor courtyard by the Shawnee Mission North District Stadium entrance and to provide grants to any North school sponsored club, group or co-curricular or extra-curricular activity. 

Shawnee Mission East SHARE Program
SHARE is a student run community service organization whose mission is to help their fellow human beings.  Students involved in SHARE learn things not easily taught in the classroom - insight into other cultures, awareness of the needs of others and the joy that comes from giving of one's time and talent for the benefit of others. 

Shawnee Mission South Foundation
The Shawnee Mission South Foundation enhances the educational experience of students and faculty at Shawnee Mission South by assisting in providing an environment in which all students can acquire more knowledge, nurture their unique abilities and pursue excellence in the skills necessary for the 21st century.   

Shawnee Mission West Alumni Fund
The Shawnee Mission West Alumni Fund enhances learning opportunities at Shawnee Mission West by providing enrichment scholarships for students, professional development opportunities for teachers and resources to purchase materials, equipment and technology used by teachers and students in the learning process.
